AECT SUMMER BOARD BUILDING DAYS SUCCESSFUL!

AECT’s Summer Board Building Days took place July 26-27, 2018 in Kansas City, Missouri. The event was a huge success and we thank all of those in attendance for their participation!

2018 EARLY CAREER SYMPOSIUM

AECT’s Research and Theory Division will be hosting the 2018 Early Career Symposium, generously sponsored by AECT. The symposium will be held at the AECT International Convention on Tuesday, October 22 (half day) and Wednesday, October 23 (half day), in Kansas City, Missouri. The symposium will engage participants in focused career mentoring and networking. Applications are due July 31, 2018Complete details can be found here.

RICHARD B. LEWIS MEMORIAL AWARD

The School Media & Technology Division (SMT) is seeking nominations for the Richard B. Lewis Memorial Award for Outstanding School Media and Technology. Nominations are due August 15, 2018. We have a great line-up of workshops available before and after the convention for only $15 each. 
Creating Text Adventures, Branching Narratives, and Case-Based e-Learning Tools with Twine with Lucas Jensen. This workshop will survey the evolution of text-based adventure games and branching narratives, with a particular focus on the free, open source, HTML-based game engine Twine.
Globally Connected Teaching and Learning: What, Who, Why, and How with Carine Ullom, and Steven Foulke. Globally Connected Teaching and Learning (GCTL) is the umbrella term for the myriad ways to connect students across the globe and engage them in meaningful cross-cultural and collaborative learning experiences. Participants will learn how to implement GCTL at their institutions.
