2020 AECT Foundation Summer Virtual Auction
As AECT members know, the main purpose of the AECT Foundation is to prepare and develop leaders and practitioners in our fields, to enlarge the body of knowledge available in the fields of educational communications and technology, and to encourage the dissemination of such knowledge. To achieve this goal, the Foundation provides funds so that graduate students and new professionals can serve as paid leadership interns during the AECT conference each year.
Funds for the Foundation come from donations and some revenue is obtained during the summer auction, which occurs during the summer board meeting each July. Because the summer board meeting will meet online this year, we have decided to organize an online auction.
How you can help: Through BiddingForGood, we will post items for which all AECT members can bid. The auction will run from August 10 at 8 A.M. to August 14 at 10 P.M. EDT. We ask that AECT members provide an auction item(s). We will need a digital photo of the item(s) with an estimated minimum value of $25 and a description of a few words. Please include an estimated value and a recommended starting bid amount ($25 or higher). You can send your information by 6PM (EST) August 7 to firstname.lastname@example.org. The bidding site URL will be sent to all AECT members as soon as we complete its construction. If you plan to donate a service, such as a lecture, you can place a dollar value or list it as, Priceless.
Once a winner is determined, the person providing the item will ship it to the winner. Due to shipping costs to international addresses, bidders must provide a U.S. mailing address.
